VR4 1998 No Power steering fault.....

Hi all brought a VR4 for a bargain its unlicensed so not been able to test drive on road. but auto gearbox is working i can drive forward an back wards in my driveway but has no power steering. They said it was the auto gearbox is stuffed.. but whats that got to do with ps...

Is there a power steering belt attached?

Is there power steering fluid?

Is the power steering pump making a unusual noise while spinning?
