Trip A/Trip B counter

Is there a correct way to re-attach the little stalk that resets the two trip counters?
Right now only Trip A (the one you push) resets and trip B (turn and push) doesn't work. I can't see any sort of notch or gap in the stalk to or the shaft it connects to that would 'lock' the two together.

Im pretty sure you just thread it in tightly. That way when its tight and you turn it to the right, it trips the "B" side.
