So I was changing the oil today because it was low and I changed the filter as well. When I started started running it again there was oil dripping from from around the filter even though it was on tight, any suggestions to the problem?

If you have the water cooler sandwich plate, the long "bolt" that the oil filter spins on can come loose and let oil leak.

Do not over torque, if you do you can crush the oil cooler and allow high pressure oil into the low pressure coolant. This will give you oil in the radiator.

^ yuuuuuuup. i have def crushed a few oil cooler sandwiches myself. i like to pull it all apart clean it real well and then reinstall it with lock-tite so i dont over tighten it and so im not afraid of it coming loose again.

I forgot about the factory oil cooler. I haven't used one of those for 8 years or so. I parked the car running with the turbo timer. Went class and when I came out there was a puddle of oil under the car. The long bolt had loosed up and when the oil system depressurized I lost about half quart. I ditched it shortly after that.
