Hey everyone,

I made an account a little while ago and figured it was time to post something.
I have been in the DSM world for around 6 years now and have owned only 1G's. I had the oppertunity to buy a GVR4 shell. Since they're awesome, I bought it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

This is the beaut I picked up back in September of this year:

And then began the cleaning...

Loosing the A/C, ABS, and starting on the 4WS:

All together

Engine bay love:

ABS eliminated

And then began the exterior.

I decided to keep with the Nile Black.

I had a '92 AWD auto Talon as a DD, which I was considering selling to pick up one with a nasty body for the donor. I could't find anything that looked like it would be suitable in the time I had, so I had to kill the DD. I thought it would be pretty neat to make the Galant automatic, TCU controlled and all anyway. The neutral/park safety switch works, Power/ECO switch works, gas pedal, kick pannel fuse box, etc. Everything is like it was factory, which was my goal.

Now onto the shell swap... (and the GoPro)

Building the automatic wiring harness:

A little bit of fun later:

First bath!

All buttoned up

Now I just need some sexy wheels to finish the exterior.

Nice first post!

What's the badge number?

Looks like you're well on your way to getting that one sorted. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/applause.gif

Nice work. A lot done in a short time.

And I think the Talon wheels look good on it.

Anymore info on the paint you used? My car is NB also and looks just a little better than when you got your car.

Thanks guys!

I am surprised how well the talon wheels looked on it. They are not in the greatest shape though.

As for the paint, I just used the PPG shopline base (2qts) then I used the PPG Deltron clear, which retails for around $200 a qt plus hardener. I used almost a gallon of that. Then add in primer, sealer, and other msc. I did have a shop discount on all of that, so I didn't spend too much. You wouldn't need to go over the top like that to make it look really good though.

Really nice looking car you got. So many of these popping up around Colorado, it's awesome. I rarely ever saw any when I was there. Then after I bought mine I see all these posts from co peeps. And there was one within a block of my house.

Hey, thanks!

Yeah, it seems like there are lots of people in Colorado with them, but I never see any on the streets, besides the 2 that belong to some buds.

It's obvious to me you have good taste. Both of your cars are really done nicely. What are Wheel and tire specs on the Talon?
