I think my slave cylinder might have a speed bleeder...how do i test it?

I highly suspect that my clutch slave may have a speed bleeder but I am not sure. How can I tell for sure without setting it up on the car and worrying whether or not it is sucking in air? I know that speed bleeders are cheap but so am I.
