So I emptied my catchcan to see that sweet oil mixed with coolant yellow snot come out today. I checked my oil, fine, looked in the oil fill cap, normal oil color. I checked both of the lines and it isn't coming from the pcv valve, just oil there, but there was a little tiny trace of snot in the beginning of the other line (vcv). Is it a blown HG? I'm just trying to figure out why it is there... Thanks guys.

It could simply be condensation, especially if you drive short distances without the car being warm for very long in a colder climate. I suppose a catch can would show it more so, since it'd take a bit longer for that to warm up and cause any moisture to evaporate. I've seen a lot of cars have this "snot" on the oil cap. I managed a jiffy lube for a couple years. Almost every time i asked the owner if it was driven short distances and shut down they affirmed my suspicion. They usually only had to drive less than 5 mins to work, the store, etc.

Werd. Usually the stuff that comes out of 1051's catch can looks like a Starbucks mocha. Just drain it.

Don't worry about it. I always get some boogery looking stuff out of my catchcan that smells like rotten turds.
