Instead of a build thread I thought a "Fix It" thread title would be more appropriate since this beater is far from smelling a modification. The inside is pretty much finished besides a few small things I would like to change (steering wheel, floor mats, nicer seats, shift knob.. maybe I'll buy one from Racah15 /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif ). I attempted to get plates for it but it wouldn't pass inspection with the rotted out flex pipe so I decided to order a stainless turbo back exhaust from CM Performance. While I'm waiting for them to deliver it I started to touch up the outside. I put the cladding together and freshened up the wheels a bit. Added black trim, but didn't get enough so I will have to order some more for the bumpers. Other issues before this thing is road worthy are the belts, cv boot is cracked and it needs new brakes.

I guess that is common place in the VR4 world.

Yeah it's common for newbs who buy vr4's not to inspect them properly before purchase and then cry about everything wrong with them.

none of that is too bad, you could just cut the AC belt off if you don't care about having air conditioning for the time being. Crank pulley looks pretty rusty though.

The rest of that is easy sh*t. Might as well get a new inner and outer tie rod assembly while you have to change out the boot.

I'd get a new one when the time comes. they are easy to replace though. loosen your belts and 4 bolts and it comes off.

Installed the new exhaust, gave her a wash and took her for a couple spins. A lot still to do but making some head way.

It's been a while since I updated anything on this but thought I'd post some pictures on the updates on the progress of bringing this little guy back to norm. I got her some new shoes, gave her a clay bar, the CORRECT exhaust, Paulo (or whatever the guys name is) gauge setup, boost controller, and other misc....

They look to be the 1st gen Volvo S40/V40 OE rims from the T4 turbo model. I think they come in both 15" and 16" with the correct Mitsubishi PCD, offset and bore diameter (because the 1st gen S40/V40 is based on a Lancer platform).

Erbody be rocking a set of BBS these days. They must giving them shits away with each new galant purchase. Yet, they still manage to look legit no matter how many Galants I see them on. Nice job on the tire selection too; pleanty of sidewall to give the car a nice beefy stance. Looking forward to more updates!
