Hey everyone, I’ve been working on reproducing some galant replacement rheostat + fog light switch housing since the OEM ones are getting brittle or impossible to find not broken.

This one is modeled to fit the factory switches and mounts like the original. I’m curious how many people in the community might be interested if I started making a small batch. I’m trying to gauge interest before producing. I’m a few days away from having the housing ready to print and ship

This part always had retention problems when installed. Any dimensional improvements to make that better? I might be interested in one. 3D print you are saying?

Maybe it was the tabs breaking off, can't recall for sure as I have not looked at mine in a while. I vaguely remember shimming with the fuzzy side of velcro to provide more friction for retention.

Yes these will be 3d printed with ABS plastic. I did improve the dimensions and clips for a tighter hold into the dash. I also changed where the rheostat and fog switch clips into the housing for easier removal. Here’s some updated screenshots of the design now image.png image.png
Testing wise it’s passed with flying colors, getting ready to print about 20-30 of them for people who have shown heavy interest in the Facebook vr4 groups.

Here’s how the final prints will come out.

ABS can be sanded and painted without issues. Getting perfectly smooth prints every print is almost impossible so it’s recommended to do that if you need perfection

Update:

The design is now 100% finished and I’ll be starting to print them tonight. Alot of test prints have been made with different renditions to make sure everything is going to fit first try. You can put your order in here https://bgrdesigns.myshopify.com/pr...t-housing-reproduction?variant=51147551015207 . I’ll have the first batch shipped out in the next 2-4 days so if you get your order in you’ll have yours on the way by then.
