- I purchased it like 7 months ago. It was in pretty decent state to begin with for its 420.000 kilometers (261.000 miles for USA friends). Noticed oil seeping from the headgasket and decided to start working on it. Full timing belt kit, water pump, set of injectors, spark plugs, spark plug wires, complete OEM engine gasket set, ARP 12mm headstuds, 3 row Evo 1/2/3 Aluminium radiator with silicone hoses, clutch kit, clutch master and slave cylinder, brake master cylinder, front brake pads, Bosch fuel pump, fuel filter, htermostat, accesory belts, 4 new tires and complete A/C system overhaul with OEM condenser, evaporator, valves and compressor are some of the parts used. The engine bay was painted and everything was throughly cleaned and/or painted. While working on the head i did a light port and polish just to smooth casting imperfections, leaving the intake side rough and the exhaust side semi polished, lapped all valves and put new valve stems in. It´s a nice daily. I come from a background of having from a 302 5.0 90s Mustang to having a 05 ´Blobeye´ WRX and i can assure: this Galant, even if it isn´t a fast car, its fun to drive even at slow speeds, comfy and realiable, and, bonus: easy to work on. Absolutely loving it. Not finished yet, i have some things to tie up soon like a new battery with its tiedown, a new HKS radiator cap and an HKS engine oil cap to name a few.
