Removing Driver's axle from tranny

I am dropping the tranny on my car and have already done the passenger axle.

I am a bit confused on the driver's axle. I want to remove it with a prybar as per the VFAQ, but I am scared to damage the seal.

Any pointers?

Thanks

Have you unbolted the intermediate shaft yet that bolts to the back of the engine block? This is the part that actually goes into the diff where the axle seal is. The CV axle itself snaps onto the end and then goes through the hub/knuckle.

Nope, missed this part. You were right, came out really easy after those two bolts were removed. Thanks

Lucky. It's the passenger side that always gives me a hard time. Not a lot of room to pry it out. I've dropped a tranny with it stuck in there before. Sucks.

on the passenger side pull the little brace plate with the 5 bolts, and it's easy to pop it right out.
