RIP This shell gave up it's drivetrain and electronics so that #139 could live.

Performance
May 23 2009: #931 is becoming a parts car to build #139. effectively it's a "body swap" for an excellent shell.
May 20 2009: 12.30 @ 112.5 1.73 60' The 60-1 ended up being bad, compressor wheel trashed in 5 passes.

16G turbo and older fmic and pipes:
May 6 2009: 12.35 @ 110.7 1.73 60'. Same setup, just better driving.
Apr 17 2009: 12.68 @ 110.3 1.89 60'. Major traction issues. 23psi on 116 racegas. Significant boost leak.







Modifications:
Engine:
    Stock 6bolt "low mileage JDM longblock"
    Stock cams, intake manifold, and head.
    1G DSM NT throttle body
    90 DSM oil cooler & filter housing
    Stock HG, hardware, and balance shafts still in.
    90 water pipe


Exhaust:

    T3 tube header
    Tial MVS 38mm Vband external gate
    Stage 5 T3 turbine wheel
    .63 AR Turbine housing (ford style 5 bolt outlet)
    Stainles 2.5" T3 o2 housing
    3" downpipe, testpipe, catback


Intake:

    3" intake pipe with K&N filter
    XS Power 24" x 12" x 4" FMIC core. (inlet endtank flipped & rewelded with 2.5" cast elbow)
    2.5" polished aluminum custom ic pipes
    Turbonetics BB 60-1 compressor & S comp housing.
    knockoff tial bov


Fuel:
    750cc FIC Injectors
    Denso Fuel pump
    AFPR - direct fit adjustable reg
    stock fuel filter and lines


Electronics:
    DSMap speed density software
    GM 3 bar map sensor and GM Air Temp sensor.
    Innovate LC-1 wideband o2 sensor w/ DB gauge.
    Eprom ECU w/ Ostrich eprom emulator
    Datalogger cable / Palm M130 / MMSD "speed density logger"


Drivetrain:
    TRE Stage 2 tranny rebuild
    ACT2600 PP
    OEM DSM disk
    SS clutch line
    Welded center diff
    4bolt DSM rear
    5 lug DSM hubs


Suspension & Brakes:
    Tein Camber Plates
    Bilstein Shocks/Struts
    Eibach Springs
    Fresh stock brake pads
    Slotted brake rotors
    AWS removed
    ABS removed


Interior:
    Aftermarket steering wheel
    91-94 DSM Shifter Assembly w/ leather boot
    2G DSM shift knob
    89 Galant glove box and dash pad


Exterior:
    89 Taillights
    89 Grill
    Prime 16x7" wheels
    Bridgestone Potenza 205/55/16 tires
    lots of dings, dents, and failing paint.


Weight Loss:
    ABS delete
    AC delete
    non-cruise throttle cable
    exhaust heat shield removed
    front bumper support removed entirely

#931 while it was being parted out:



Pulled the complete engine/trans/suspension/steering in one shot out the bottom.



#931 went to the scrapyard on 1/4/2010 as an empty unibody shell. Just about every useable part will end up on another VR4. In the end, the car was a "Total Mileage Unknown" title with over 200k actual miles and had body damage on every panel w/ typical clearcoat FAIL. It wasn't worth the cost to restore vs starting with a better vr4 shell.
