What coil-over setups are you guys running, especially those with the 245+ width tires?

i have a set of 1G Megan's with GVR4 specific k-sport top hats. i def like them a lot, just like every other coilover it just takes time to dial the suspension in. i think because these are meant for a DSM it took me a little longer then i would have liked to get the pre-load correct. i made about 7 or 8 pre-load adjustments before i got something comfortable out of them, ride height however was a breeze.

What are the k-sport specific top hats for the GVR4? Did the 1G Megan Racing Coil over top hats not work or are you running a different spring?

1G has a different strut top mounting bolt pattern than the GVR4.

as Iceman said its just a different pattern. no i did not change out the springs. i changed the tophats because i got a killer deal on the megans and the k-sports that i had were blown out and rusted so badly i couldn't pull them apart completely.

I really liked my K-sports as well. i bought them used from a member on here(everything was pre-dialed in) who had went to the FEAL coilovers.

I have an old set of Muellerized JICs. I just had them refreshed last spring by JIC USA in Cali. So far so good. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Feal long travel version. A little too much rebound in the rear for my liking. Fronts feel great though.

I am supposed to do a write up on them, but every time I choose to rallyx the car, I have some life event come up. It has been a year of just dd abuse. I refuse to slow down for speed bumps now and it feels great on gravel and rough roads, but like I said there is too much rebound in the rear even on the softest setting.

Hot Bits are on 570. They're perfectly fine for me, as they give the car a very stable feel. I wish I had more to compare them to, but I don't. Only issue I have with them is that they are noisy with the solid pillow ball mounts up top, but you only hear them when you're driving on crappy roads. I'm running 205 tires with no rubbing at near stock ride height.

I had some custom fronts done for me. They use Koni 8611 double adjustable race inserts in a custom machined housing with BC lower mounts. I am using a custom valved set of 2g Eclipse rear shocks with Ground Control collars in the rear.

I have a set of D2s. With a finger and half wheel gap, mild spring tension, and a dampening setting that isn’t too aggressive or stiff, they’re alright. The winter time kills the roads in Nebraska so some spots feel bouncy at times but not too rough. I’ve ridden in cars with violently stiff suspensions and was not a fan. I believe there’s a balance as to what is feasible.
