Quick Wheel Bearing Question

I've got a few front knuckles off of the car and I'm trying to figure out if they're acceptable to ship to a member on here who is not looking to replace the bearings. Is any play acceptable? At the pair I'm looking at, one has zero play and the other has the slightest bit. Kind of like if you were checking a 14B for shaft play, it would be a very slight acceptable amount of play.
They came off of 497/2000, which had some miles, but a lot of suspension components had been replaced by the previous owner.
So are the bearings ok, or toasted? Any other tips to help me tell are welcome, thanks!

Zero play is good but you really can't tell that unless you have a tire on it to be able to really get some force applied to check it.

It's hard to say. With the axle nut torqued down (installed) that play could very well be gone... But then again the good bearing could also go in 5,000 miles or less. bearings are hit or miss in life expectancy.
