what to set my timing at tdc

hey im setting my timing just wnat to know where would be good to set it at 5degrees 10 degrees? i was getting a little knock but i have forged internals,fp2 cams and springs let me know peeps. thanks

As per the factory service manual, set timing to 5 degrees. Make sure you are properly grounding the ECU when you do it.

This is called setting the base timing. Basically, it is setting the timing mechanically and not letting the ECU butt in to change things yet.
Disconnect the grounded timing wire and check timing. Now the ECU is controlling it and it should be around 12 degrees at idle.

Please note that you should make sure your idle is set correctly and engine is warm.

awesome thanks, to ground it i just jump that little plug its like on the tranny side of the engine
