Can the 1g harness be used in the vr4? like from the ecu to motor, and the fuse box/headlights and such. pretty much all the wires in front of the firewall

The 1g harness is shorter in length than our Galant's.

Actually, the 1g engine harness is longer than the harness for the vr4.

There are some other subtle differences in the t-stat harness routing, and number of wires in that sub loom, but the 1g engine harness can work if you take some time to mod it appropriately.

The dsm engine compartment loom that runs the vehicle electrical system has a completely different configuration. It could be made to work, but damn, that's a whole sh*t ton of work!
