stock boost gauge....

hey the stock electronic boost gauge... how precise and reliable is it compared to an aftermarket non digital? thanks. is it necessary to get one? thanks and my apologies for asking a newbish question.

It will basically read up to ~10 psi, but since there's no scale you'll never know exactly where you're at.

If you're planning to modify the car, get one.

Not only is there no scale, it doesn't actually read boost pressure. It's only a guess by the ecu. Basically it's just pretty flashing lights for the ricers. Get the real thing and live happily ever after.

Most people get it converted to knock count via a keydiver eprom chip. Thats about all its good for.
