Donor ecus

My question is this. Is there a difference between awd and fwd ecus? Second question, where are the ecus located on the talon and eclipse? I looked where ours are, and found a pigtail connected to the lines that connect to our ecu on both cars leading off into the dash somewhere.
Update: The only thing I can find in the pinout is abs, which is disconnected anyway....
Update 2: Apparently the ecu on talons and 'clipses is located LEFT of the passengers feet. In my VR4 it is to the RIGHT of the passengers feet. Is this stock?

The only difference usually between a FWD and AWD ECU is one resistor, which tells the ECU you are FWD. It very minimally affects the maps.

Here is the chart for both the R129 ( Federal vs Cali ) and R130 ( AWD vs FWD ):

91-93 model R129/R130 = ECU TYPE 1k Ohm resistors
NO / NO = AWD California
NO / YES = FWD California
YES / NO = AWD Federal
YES / YES = FWD Federal
