EGR removal - oops?

I removed the EGR valve last night and began putting on the block off plate. I removed the vacuum lines and didn't notice where I was pulling from. SNAP. The line from the thermostat broke off. I didn't learn the first time and pulled on the OTHER one. SNAP! There goes the second one. Why I didn't learn the first time, I don't know. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif What do I do?

You can just plug those two hoses while you decide what to do. I would just remove all of that unnecessary crap.

Both mine are gone along with all the rest of that stuff.

Unless you need that for emission testing, scrap it all.

You only need:

PCV to intake (stock)
AFPR to intake
BOV to intake
WG to intake or output of turbo.
Boost gauge to "P" port.

I researched all of the way to reroute/remove the lines. I was curious about the fact that I snapped two openings off from the bottom of the t-stat. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It won't affect anything. You'd just need a new thermovalve if you need to put the egr back on.

Don't worry, they won't leak coolant or anything.

i ran with them broken off for thousands of miles with no issues. like john said, they won't leak, because they aren't actually coolant hoses but vacuum. Since you're eliminating that vacuum stuff, it doesn't matter. You could actually pull that whole thing out of the water neck and plug it if you cared that much. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Good to know. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Now to get the ports plugged off on the fuel vacuum line and the TB lines. Maybe I will just grind them down and JBkwik them to seal. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

you can get vacuum caps at any auto parts store for the tb that won't cost you much and it looks better than some ghetto fix.

On mine i have manifold -> afpr, manifold -> brake booster, and manifold -> wg/bov/mbc. You'd probably want a boost gauge in there as well, just don't tap it on the afpr line.

That is helpful, thanks . /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif what about the FPS?

Anyways, I found out about the FPS, I do not need to run it. Just adding this for future n00bs like me so they can get the answer. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
