If you mean that your galant is a dsm then that's where the flack will be. They are alittle sensitive with that topic.

My bad I guess. Was under the impression a 4g63 is a DSM. Apparently/clearly I was wrong however. Won't happen again champ.

Don't worry man, the same correction happens to half of the new members who join here. The 6th gen Galant started a few years before DSM's existed. They borrowed the drivetrain from the Galant for the joint venture Mitsubishi started with Chrysler, Diamond Star Motors.

Anyways, welcome to the fray.

No offense taken, welcome to the site and feel free to ask questions. Don't be offended if someone corrects you. Giving the simple and correct answer is what many of us try to do, even though we may sound like assholes. Settle in and if you find something that the search button can't find, just ask.

Welcome! The 4g63 actually came out about many years before the DSM was created (1980) first car of which was a 4th Gen Galant Eterna, then the 6th gens were the first with DOHC version option.

Yea, we are touchy about the dsm thing since as listed before we are the originals. Also you have great grammar and spell thing right. Those two are required by the grammar nazis on here. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Welcome to the forum, Josh!

This was definitely one of my favorite DSM/GVR4's I have ever owned!

And you guys need to lay off this DSM/Galant thing! It is silly thing to pick on it in the first place (when people outright calling GVR4s a DSM), but it is asinine to pick on Josh, who actually combined the two terms! Like it or not, they ARE related!

There wasn't any "picking on" going on, we were all quite cool headed and simply informing him the difference and he acknowledged he didn't know there was a difference. Yes they are related, because 1G DSMs are based off the 6th Gen Galant chassis and so there is a parts interchangeability with the two. You on the other hand seemed to misinterpret our responses as picking on him.
