Viscous Limited Slip Differential, but in order to be the 3 bolt LSD, it would had to have been from a '90 DSM.

Unless your GVR4 diff is trash or missing, I wouldn't waste my time or money installing a DSM 3 bolt diff unless it was a VLSD. A VLSD is a slight upgrade from the stock open diff.

Well I need to know if the axles will work from a 3 bolt rear dsm in my factory 91 galant vr4 3 bolt rear end

It it's from a VLSD diff, than no the input shafts are different lengths. The stock axle input shafts are the same length.

In other words, DSM 3 bolt to VR4 3 bolts are exactly the same. However if they are 3 bolt LSD Axles, then you need the matching LSD rear end for those axles.

Edited FYI for the OP:
If you go the route of swapping out your complete differential and you still have 4 Wheel Steering, you will run into an issue with the DSM unit as it does not have the hole in the top of the diff for the 4WS pump to sit in, thus you will need to either A) Remove your 4WS now or B) Search the Tech section on how to install the DSM gear and pinion into the GVR4 3 diff housing "Pumpkin" then you can keep your 4WS if it still works and you want to keep it.

Easy. Pull axles. Pull 2 bolts in mustache brace. Pull diff cover. Drop out the whole carrier. Make sure shims stay with each side they came out of. Pull bearing off carrier. Pull drive gear for 4ws. Pull ring gear.

Take axles out of 4 bolt diff. Open 4 bolt diff. Pull the carrier. Pull bearing (without messing it up) off 4 bolt diff.. Pull ring gear. Put 3 bolt ring gear on 4 bolt carrier. Put 4ws drive gear on 4 bolt carrier. Put bearing back on 4 bolt carrier. Bolt 4 bolt carrier into diff, using 4 bolt races and 3 bolt shims. You now have 4ws and 4 bolt rear.

Check diff alignment for peace of mind, but since the carriers are machined out of steel, and to closer tolerances than the cast iron cases, the case is the variable, so the shims should line up the new carrier so your matching ring and pinion still line up right. I've done a 3 of these and they've all been spot on when done.
