Do the Main bearings with the groove in them go on the block, or on the main caps?

I installed them on the main caps, and am having a heart attack thinking about going on with the build without making sure its ok..

So the grooved bearings go in the block not the bearing caps, like I have them...
so I have to redue the crank?

Also what does everyone use to remove the bearing caps I strain everytime I have to remove them..

Definitely need to reverse the bearings. I don't know if installing them backward would damage them in any way. But I don't think they're keyed to install only one way.
