Bob at Joliet's Autobahn

Ran the high speed autocross at new road track yesterday. Fanatastic track; brand new; all the mod cons. In spite of huge knock sums, I got within 1/2 sec of an new Evo MR; but a '03 EVO8 was 4 sec. faster! He's a super driver. I also beat lots of Mustangs and an prepared Eclipse on race tires.

Looked like fun, wish I could have gone but I need new tires. How much did it cost to run? I heard memberships there are insane.

i want to run at mid-ohio sometime...are those 16s? If so what size tires are you running?

I don't think anyone else enjoys their car as much as Bob. Well done on the times. That Evo MR driver had to be pretty good to beat you.

Watch out EVOs, I've got adjustable Tien front strut mounts and a Keydiver chip (thanks Jeff!) to put in for next time.

Midwestern Council event, cost was $115. You get 2 practice sessions and 4 timed runs, totalling about 10 laps as fast as U could go. Council has more autocross at Blackhawk Farms three times, again at Autobahn on Oct. 1 and Gingerman on Labor day. http://www.mcscc.org/

17x7.5 Rota sub-zeroes with 225-45 Falken Azenis; my street setup is 16x7.5 with 225-45 Dunlop SP-9000.

Mid-Ohio has a VSCDA Vintage event in October where you can take your street car on the track during the 40min. lunch break Sat. & Sun. for $50/day. This "touring" so no balls-out speeds. VSCDA also has touring at Road America twice and at Grattan (near Grand Rapids) this summer. http://www.vscda.org/

NASA runs High Speed Drivers Ed events ($165) for street cars at several midwest tracks. NASA is at Autobahn this weekend. You'll get more than an hour of flatout track time with instruction. NASA membership is cheap. http://www.racenasa.com/
