Ongoing build/repair for #852 (56k go away)

Well, it's been a few weeks since I drove down to Utah to pick it up.

What I started with

First things fist, There was no bumper support and luckily my friend Chad had one to spare. So got to modifyiing it a bit to fit the front mount. He also hooked me up with some oem vr4 foglights

Next up, the exhaust. The pipes were pretty much rusted through, so just had an exhaust shop replace them with stock diameter piping for now and threw on a Vibrant 3" muffler to quiet it down a bit

Next up, was the intercooler piping. Been having a lot of issues lately with the charge pipe poping off under even low boost. So I picked up a universal kit and went to work. Also, since I had spare piping, I went ahead and replaced the stock rubber intake piping as well.

Next, I wanted to get rid of the coupler on the stock jpipe, so I called up my friend Erich and asked if he'd fab me up one as well as a tb elbow.

Interior stuff was small. I replaced the stock 4 spoke steering wheel with a 1g 3 spoke one. (Thanks Chad)

I was looking into getting a 3" dp and 2.5" catback. The piping I put i was just to fix the problem as I don't want pipebent tubing, but mandrel bent tubing when it comes time to get a legit exhaust

I love the Vibrant muffler, I have one on mine and it sounds really good and not to loud.

Couple more updates.

Removed the rear bumper support. Left the foam in to keep some regidity

89 underdash. Didn't think the stock panel would weigh as much as it did. Who would have thought haha

Also got rid of the EGR, charcoal canister, and plugged most of the vacuum lines. Hopefully be throwing on a stock 1g BOV in the next few days.
As for the Vibrant muffler, love that thing! I'm not big on the obnixious "fart cans" and prior to buying I searched youtube for videos of the Vibrant muffler. Felt it was what I was looking for and couldn't be happier.

The white donner car, Can I have the Passenger Door? who would I need to contact to get that door?

Hey man, it's coming along nicely! You have any better pics of that j-pipe? Send me a couple if so. I'm anti-fart can too, and also ordered a vibrant muffler, and resonator. My muffler is the dual tip 3" though(#1043). I'm excited to hear what it will sound like. I couldn't find any good sound clips of the dual tips /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

That's def not a donor car. That's Geno's 1870. Currently in the process of getting it back on the road. I was just given parts he no longer was using. However, I can get you a white door relatively cheap if you're local.

Here's a vid of mine with the Vibrant muffler. I wouldn't see how the sound would be much much different. More than likely same baffling/internals, just 2 smaller exits instead of 1 larger exit

Also, here's a dual tip one on a TSi. This is the vid I checked out that kind of sold me on the muffler

If you read in the guys mod list with the dual tip on the 1g, that's actually a moroso spiral flow muffler with vibrant tips. The one I ordered is 3" in and dual 3.5's out. Prt#1043

Hey mike maybe you should go to the prix fourm and take care of the ppl there that you took there money and never got there PARTS.

Just a few very small updates.

Chad (Geno) and I installed an SAFCII.

Switched back to a stock 1g BOV. Please pay no mind to the clear recirculation pipe. Be surprised how hard it is to fine 1 1/4 diameter hose at an auto part store. Home Depot it was haha

Painted my grill black and while at the junkyard snatched some amber turn signals. Not a big fan of all the white so I figured this would add a little break. Also plan on picking up some amber conrer lights in the near (or distant) future

Alright, so i've got more than a few updates /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

First off, exhaust system. got a 3" turbo back using an ebay 2g downpipe and a custom 1g awd catback. Straight piped and surprisingly quiet

Next up, turbo manifold. Now I might get some sh*t for this, but I was cursiou how they performed and i'll admit, I was drawn to how they look.

2g manifold next to the new tubular.

Next up, I'm trying to draw the least amount of attention torwards me and with my o2 dump it was a bit much since any cop in a 40 mile radius could hear me everytime I got into boost. So I opted to pick up a recirculating o2 housing

And lastly. Some of you may know, I picked the car up in Utah so i've been combating rust for some time now. Spotted a belize green VR4 at the local junkyard and decided to snatch it's trunk lid since mine is trash
