What kind of struts and springs are you guys running with 17 inch or 18 inch rims? And how hard is the car as compared to stock? Im having a hard time finding soft suspension and avoid the wheels rubbing the fenders.

On soft supension my car has a lot of vertical movement on bumps and pot holes. On hard struts i run the car without rubbing the tyres on fenders but the car itself gets very hard to drive for daily use.

What should i do if i want to run 18 inch rims? Can i run a combination of hard springs and soft struts or vice versa to work something out?

I'm running 1G DSM KYB AGX's and GVR4 specific H&R lowering springs and Tein front camber plates on my car. I've got Drag DR17's (FN01RC knock offs) in 17x7 with 225/45/17 tires. I'm not sure what the offset on the wheels are since I'm a couple thousand miles away from my car right now, but they fit just fine with this setup. I've seen a few GVR4's and 1G DSM's with 18's on them, but I'm not sure what they had to do to get them to fit on their cars.

I'm running 19x8 on the AMG with hotbits coilovers without any issues.

I'm also running 17x7.5 on the VR4 with hotbits coilovers without any clearance issues.

The offset is from mem about the +40 to +38 mark.

225/35r18 may be similar in diameter to stock, but it makes for a tire that's waaaaay too low profile, IMO. If you get 18's and run a 225 width tire, get at least a 40 series to give the wheel some protection.

I've run 18x7's with 225/35r18 and 225/40r18 and 17x8's with 245/40r17. The 18's fit with no modifications. The 17's are my current setup and can be seen by clicking the link in my sig.

I suggest running 17's. They're a good balance of looks and performance.
