I am a dumbass.

I did my timing belt. But apparently used the wrong bolts in the oil pan. So yes, there is some wear and tear and the brand new t-belt. I get to take it off and re-do it. Yay. But there is a silver lining. I have a smoke-machine that i am gunna use when all the valves are closed and test the intake system.

Ugh... Sorry to hear that man. Having just done a timing belt & full gasket set on my engine, I can only imagine the dread you felt when you realized what happened.

I'd like to have a dollar for every 4g63 thats had this mistake made. Its a f'd up design from Mitsubishi for sure.

I remember somebody suggesting to use studs in place of those two bolts, so you never have to mix up the long and short ones again.

Although a god idea, how many times do you take the pan off...Oh wait, I thought I was on someother car board!!

Well i got it fixed. I noticed another couple things while i was in there. First, the bolt on the tensior arm was a little loose. Second, T-belt tensioner needs replaced and i could see the heater hoses were leaking a little bit (could explain why the car getting hot somtimes). Anyone know if they are Galant specific?

At the same i wanted to take the turbo off to fix oil drain leak and port out the wastgate portion of the exhaust elbow and broke off TWO bolts in the turbo while taking the exhaust manifold off. Yay. I even used anti-sieze when i put them on last.

Ive had a great day. Dumbass!

anti seize will work on exhaust bolt if you use the highest grade and the highest temp one you can find. I never broke/seize a single bolt after I used the 2200*F food grade anti seize.
