So i thought id show some progress on how 483 of 2k's coming.

Nice progress!!!! The car looks great. I remember the plate discussion and like the one you picked!!!!! Heat gun on the front bumper should straighten her out and keep it that way.(be sure NOT to burn the paint- be patient).

I am envious...I can't wait to get 1948 running again and hear it idle like yours. Did you just slap on the cams with the stock valvetrain?

 

Yea the 272's can be run with no valve train mods any bigger you will need to modify the valve train..

Parts Dinosaur has some on sale right now, best bang for your buck. More than likely they are Topline units like were circulating in mass fashion a couple of years ago now.

 

i went to order them from STM (street tuned motor sports) they sell Johnson lifters, he told me to buy them from ebay becuase there only 70 bucks

^^^^+1. Those are the ones I used in 381 per several good references. They have tons of good feedback on other DSM forums, too!

have a few questions though on the 3g lifters:

1. what other benefits can i see with these lifters other than eliminating those ticking sound? since i changed to a multigrade thinner viscosity i dont hear any valve ticks anymore.

2. are these drop on's? no mods needed to install these?

1. yes they do stop the ticking sound, but also just looking at the squirter's on the top of the lifter they revised lifters are id say 4x bigger than the old ones. you can barley fit a needle in the old ones and you can almost fit a pencil in the new ones..

2. there direct drop in no mods needed

New Parts: ETS FMIC Kits black pipes, ETS Intake 3' GM maf/Maft Act 2100, Findanza 9lb flywheel SS break lines, Drilled and slotted Rotors all 4, SS Clutch Line, Water pump, tensioner pullies belt ect. Tial Q Bov and a bunch more misc things.
