Yesterday I was on my way to pick up my son. The lady in front of me gets a green arrow and does nothing but jabber away on her cell phone. After a few seconds I honked my horn at her. Now this was the first time I have honked the horn in my Galant and I was very suprised.

As soon and it made a sound I felt my manhood drain away. The honk was the gayest honk I have ever heard. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rofl.gif I wouldn't even classify it as a honk. More a very small beep, almost as if I had kicked a mouse in the nuts and the mouse screamed for second.

Now to the question. What cars have a decent horn that I could swap out?

Yeah they're a little feminine...but I think that's with most if not all Japanese Vehicles...I recommend Audi horns...I heard you just go to a junkyard and pull off the horn piece under the hood that makes the sound and just wire it up...no /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

i've been thinking about this for a while too. i've seen people use bosch horns as replacement.

as a side note. hypothetical... what if i have in my posession a unit that i can put into my gvr4 to improve my car's horn but the sound comes out like the fire truck's or a police car. will i be in trouble for using such a device? what if the same device can make cow's moo sound?

yeah, the horn tooter is a joke! I finally have a 'freeway blaster' in my GTO and love startling folks with it (that deserve it, of course) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devil.gif

Yes definitely. The horn in our old 200 TQ was very authoritative sounding.

Here ya go. The guy that works at the bike shop net to me has a train air horn on his Jeep. That is the loudest horn I have ever heard. He scared to crap out of me one day. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Same with our 03 Jetta. FWIW, I installed a Hella dual horn kit in my car and it sounds almost as ghey as stock.

Anyone have sounds clips of aftermarket horns? That would make this super easy. i am just worried I am going to buy a horn and have it equal the current gayness I am subject to.

Crap, I bought those same things from Summit but have not put them in. I was hoping they were obnoxiously loud. Now you tell me they are clown horns.

Now I just have to figure out how to convert the Galant to a three phase eletrical system.

I've been looking for a junkyard Ford truck horn for a few months, but haven't found what I'm looking for yet.
