The Beast...she lives!!! MUAHAHAA!!! /ubbthreads/images//graemlins/grin.gif

So, the new motor is finally done, installed, and running. Idles perfectly at 850, man is this thing smooth running. So far I've put about 700 miles on it already, has seen no more then 50% throttle, and 5k a few times here and there, running only 10 psi, on a B16G through the break in.

Here's a few pics of it all.

Rebuild at 271k

All that red lube made it look like she was bleeding.

Good job.

What cams? And what turbo is that with the "Super" hotside. I'm really considering going to a TD06 or larger hotside but I'm worried about boost threshold on my street car. I like 20 lbs by 3k RPM./ubbthreads/images//graemlins/grin.gif

Before/after pic.... You removed the oil pan? /ubbthreads/images//graemlins/dunno.gif

Nice. Now I just need to get 439/2000s litter sister 439/1000 back up and running with a new motor. My Ross/Gordon combo is just sitting in my living room, but seeing this may just make me work on getting it running

For the time being the cams are stock, FP1x's are on the shopping list. That turbine housing is a Bullseye steel DSM housing. The original cast housing was cracked, and I didn't want to replace it again anytime soon, so I went with the steel. Definitely Beefy, and so far the thing has lasted about 2-3 years. Which at the time was daily driven at about 16-18psi, and turned up to ~22 for sh*ts and giggles.

Yep! That was a real back breaker getting that sucker out of there /ubbthreads/images//graemlins/tongue.gif. Nah, just how dirty the engine bay was, I wish I would've taken some shots of the undercarriage, and motor/tranny before I cleaned them all. The thing was LAYERED in mud and oil. Powerwasher FTW!

For me it's actually kind of wierd to look at it being that clean, Everything was either black grime/oil or dirt. For instance the water pump pipe that runs along the side of the block, I literally thought it was black, cleaned it up, "Oh crap, it's silver?" /ubbthreads/images//graemlins/rofl.gif

I know it's the bullseye housing. I was wondering what turbo it was you have attached to it. Just a 14B I'm guessing? And about the boost threshold, I know it's still for the TD05 wheel but isn't it a 9cm housing or something big like that? Do you still get 18 lbs < 3K rpm?

Ok I checked again and I guess it's just a regular volume housing. I could have sworn it was bigger. /ubbthreads/images//graemlins/dunno.gif

Nice work! I really liked the picture of the head sitting there with the intake and exhaust manifolds still attached to it for some reason.

Nice kenzie, man that sure does look nice when someone takes the time to do it right the first time, nothing like doing the work yourself and getting to drive her after all that hard work. BTW I like the mini in the garage /ubbthreads/images//graemlins/blush.gif
