i rarely visit here, sorry about that. but i feel i have something to share that you guys might like.

this weekend i finally put the intercooler on. yeah i test fit it and hacked the car up some to get it to fit. but when the day was done i still didnt think it was gonna fit well. (it didnt)

there where many setbacks, lots of procrastination, and just buying of other sh*t for other cars (got 3 now). this car ran and drove, so ehh. but it could use some more drivablity and boost. every time it would go into boost it would freak out. im assuming cuz there was a boost leak somewhere.

anyway. me babbling again... here is the car porn...

complete as it was on the GVR4. not sure it was all GVR4, might be some other DSM/EVO8/X lol.
only thing i kept off of it was the stock BOV. rest is new.

this was the hardest part. stupid ass AC lines and other sh*t all in the way. had to get creative. but its solid. turned out good.

IMG_20121118_122909.jpg

was going to do one piece, but this seemed simpler to assemble. also the way i have seen others (ETS) do it.

IMG_20121118_122858.jpg

oh yeah this thing. im running a MAF-Traslator 2.06 or something. and thats also a 2g TB elbow.

IMG_20121118_141739.jpg

you can see the cold side pipe assembled. doesnt look like i took a test fit pic. the new OEM BOV flange welded on.

IMG_20121118_105951.jpg

this was all ready pretty cut up when i got the car. was swapped from another GVR4?...

oh yeah. this is all OEM....Honda. lol its a 151R battery. for Fit/Civic Hybrid's. its like a 51R, just 2-3in narrower. plus OEM Honda mounting hardware....i work at Honda btw. also trimmed the battery tray. you can fit 2 of these batteries in the OEM tray. this one tested out at 470cca when new. rated at like 340 or something.

IMG_20121118_155611.jpg

thats all 2.5-3" and flanges from Columbia Mandrel. Mishimoto/Innovative/Vibrant couplers, port matched 2g throttle elbow. stock GVR4/1gDSM BOV. K&N air filter. IndyRacecore/Spearco 2-216 intercooler (1g DSM 'race' short pipes intercooler).

i did all this work myself. i am no fabricator thats forsure. just love to do the work on my own cars. hope you enjoy.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Looks good man! I'd be proud of that, I really like how you kept it tucked away in the bumper support.

6th picture down I noticed what looks like the jack was lowered and the tires not on wooden blocks. Doesn't hurt really just looks. Its an easy fix even on the car. I take a 2x4 about 12 inches long and run it on a table saw so one side is perfectly square and no rounded corners. Then place the 4 inch wide side with the side you cut facing down to the 1/8 inch bottom thats all tweaked wile the IC is sitting on a block of wood the width of the core (2x8's work good for this). If the IC has the weld on nuts deals there drill holes in the borad to they sit in the holes. If you want to leave it on the car for this just a jack holding the board to the IC will work.

Now the fun part BFSH. Hit straight down with hard fast blows with a dead blow or BFSH. DON'T HIT THE CORE OR DRINK BEER DURING THE OPERATION. 90% of the tweaked are will bend out instantly.. Thats my performance tip for the evening, OK back to work.

i think i got lost in there somewhere lol. but yeah. there was that big dent in the bottom of the core when i got it (the jack in the pic is just holding it up). i thought about trying to fix it, then didnt do anything.
