That's my favorite response to people who complain about the expense of a part, "Have you ever tried to make one? How much time and grief does it save you to buy this already built and engineered part. Guaranteed to fit, sometimes after market just doesn't make the grade, cheap yes, fit and finish no. That's where the value in the price of the part comes from. The time you don't have to waste fabricating your own bearing, when the OEM part will do the job for 60-100k miles just fine.
