So I am taking apart my VR4 and decided that I would go ahead and mount a pair of Cibie Super Oscars that I had purchased for my Porsche. Matches my hood scoop well I think!!! The bracket that I made bolts to the two inside headlight bolts on each side and one bolt in the middle near the hood latch bolts. I wanted something that I could unbolt easily just in case I need or want to remover them.

Yeah I like it! But expect to be ridiculed unless you actually use them to illuminate deers whilst traveling sideways down dirt tracks at night in the rain, in which case you'll quickly gain huge amounts of respect.

I do plan to find some places that I will actually need to use these! Hard to find any rally events near Indianapolis, In. At least the last time I checked. Will need to travel a little bit west in the near future!

that is way too cool. I think it's awesome and could use them...roads at night are about a 100:1 ratio of deer to drivers

I actually really like them. The covers match the car so well. Nicely done.

Cibie is an old school rally light used on many rally cars from the 60's on. They are a very bright halogen! Something special in the way they chrome there reflectors.

That would be so much cooler if you had two more and placed them between the two you currently have /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Funny....I happen to have two more of them......Maybe I should try them out! I don't think the airflow will be that interrupted into the hood scoop.

I would need to make a stronger mount... I guess I could come up with something! The car is already apart for paint, but I will try and mock something up as it's going back together.

I actually found this post via Google a month later whilst looking to see how the Super Oscars compare to Hella Rally 3000s. Lulz.

move them closer together. then add the other two lower on the bumper at about where the first ones are from center. personally if it was me I would take the other 2 and also angle them like 30-45* outward, really widen your view and keep the road lighted while sideways....but thats just me.

I have it back together from being painted and I think I'm going to stick with the two for now! The other two would need painted and I don't have time to do them right now......
