fuel pressure reg adaptor

Is the MD998742-01 fuel pressure adaptor necessary to check fuel pressure on #1551? Also I bought a fuel pressure reg from Rock Auto, an Intermotor PR181 and it does not look like it is like the stock one. Of course I can not see the press. reg very well between wires, hoses, etc.

This is the pressure regulator that Rock Auto sent me. Is this what gvr4 looks like?

 

That is what the Fuel Pressure Regulator (FPR) looks like for your VR4. It only takesa few minutes to change it out. I recommend unplugging one or more of the ignition wires that might be in your way to gain better access to the fuel hose clamp and mounting bolts. I like to use 10mm wabble socket to access the bottom bolt but you can also get to it with an box-end wrench if you clear the wires and fuel hose out of the way first.
