Check your Compression, that could give you an idea, of whether its motor, or turbo, also look at the oil itself, is it sooty?

Could be a variety of things.
Work piston rings, leaving valve seals, Leaking exhaust side seal in the turbo charger.

Price, who knows... depends on what it is, and what combination of other parts you have to replace.

I'm sure I have some type exhaust leak in the front. When I open the hood n rev the motor smoke comes up around where the turbo is and also the back end of the motor under the eci ,can't pin point where its coming from

Just curious, what would cause "sooty" or very dark, dirty oil if you are losing oil?

An oil burning turbo Mitsu? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nowai.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowrofl.gif

Both my cars burn somewhere around a quart every 1k miles. No leaks, no smoke. Get used to it and check it fairly often.

A lot of high powered boosted engines loose oil. They usually suffer from high crankcase pressure and push oil out the pcv of breather/catch can setup. If you have a stock intake setup that oil goes through the motor to get burned by design. There may not be anything actually wrong with your motor. A compression test wouldn't hurt though.
