Knock sensor and Random wiring question

Knock Sensor:
Well after spending about 30 mins looking through my Galant manual, I could not find a diagram nor mention of a knock sensor (I might be blind).

The reason I ask is that after fixing all the wiring down there that was fubared, I noticed that the knock sensor has 2 wires. One is the white wire that goes to the ECU, the other is a black wire that I THINK goes to ground. When I found it, it was retarded crimped to ground (was not a factory or normal crimp /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif).

Other wire:

It connects to something right under the glove box. What is, I do not know since my big ass head can't fit under there to look. If someone can even tell me just the name, I can search for it myself.

Thanks,
Alan

Also does anyone have a good Galant VR4 manual in PDF form?

IIRC the knock sensor circuit is made up of a 1 conductor shielded wire, where the conductor is the signal wire and the ground path is run through the shielding. At the sensor end the shielding is crimped to a wire that goes into the connector. At the ECU end the shielding is crimped to a wire that runs into a common ground point on the chassis.

yes thats the mpi relay connector. Knock sensor is on the back of the block (firewall side) about 2" below the head deck between the staretr and the ac compressor. look up between the front left driveshaft (between the steady bearing and the trans) and the crossmember when you are under the car.
