Ball joint questions

Putting together the rear subframe and the lower rear ball joints are giving me the blues. They insert into the trailing arm and I can get the nut started but when you go to tighten it, the nut and the threaded bolt on the ball joint spin in unison. I put the rear upper control arm on and it did the same thing, but I hit it gently with an impact and it snugged it down. With the lower one, there obviously isn't enough room for an impact and now it won't even come off. There is like one thread showing up top so I don't think I can put another nut on to work some magic.

Any suggestion? These are new Moog ball joints if it matters...

I'm dumb. Gotta seat the tapered part and then it goes. Just beat the f*** out of the trailing arm with a dead blow hammer and it works.

Forgive my ignorance... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hsugh.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Use a pry bar to lever the ball joint into place, should give enough contact to tighten the nut, this is very common.
