Turbo rebuild

Sorry, it's probably been asked a thousand times before, but
How difficult is it to rebuild 16G?

Or, more to the point,
How easy iis it for me to muck up the rebuild?
(I play with everything mechanical, but, new things scare me)

Don't quote me on this, but I believe it is fairly simplistic to rebuild the turbo. If you don't have a way to balance it you still have to ship it out to do that.

I rebuilt mine using VFAQ. It was pretty easy.

I rebuilt mine several years ago, scribe a line on the compressor wheel, nut and shaft so they can be lined up when you re-assemble it and you can get away without getting a shop to re-balance it.

Looking @ Fleabay rebuild kits, some of them start @ $45.
Are any of them good, or is it a crap shoot?
