was just given a '95 galant with the sohc 2.4 in it. can this block/crank be used to build stroker kit? thanks for any info!!

The head will bolt on, but it leaves a large hole that the head doesn't cover up in the block that is open to the crankcase. It can be welded but its a big pain.

You can put the crank in a 7-bolt 4G63 to make a stroker kit, or you can put your DOHC head on that block. There are write ups all over the place on how to do it. There are actually 3 holes that need to be plugged, and you don't need to weld them - you can use freeze plugs to block them off. They are just oil drain holes that the DOHC head doesn't have.

Lots of info up on my website about that engine: Curt's 4G64 website
