Windshield Wiper Linkage

The passenger side linkage is messed up. You can't tighten it which causes the arm to hit the hood. Anyone had this problem and if so, HOW DO I FIX IT!!!???
Thanks

One of two things has happened: You stripped the splines off the drive stud, or you had a loose wiper arm and now the splines on the stud have carved out too big a taper in the wiper arm. Check the stud. If the splines are ok, you need to replace the wiper arm.

Seriously doubt it, but don't know at this moment. Any other 6g Galant should work.

Did you remove the wiper motors at any time? Are you sure the arms are mounted on the motor drive at the right position on the splines? Is that why the arm hits the hood at the far extent of it's sweep?
