Got a funny problem.Like a newb I put a trans in without putting in a new fork and its so worn out when you push the clutch in in kinda moves the fork up, and over and after awhile it kills the slave. It takes a awhile to kill the slave tho and I need to drive the car from GA to FL.If I can get it down here I can swap it out.

You can shift a car without the clutch. I've done it before so I wouldn't be stranded. You have to use the clutch to get into first if you can or kill the engine, put the car in first, start the engine and go. It sux but I've done it to get out of a pinch once for the vr4, once on the black car, and once for my buddys gst.

that is horrible on the trans, best fix is to probably shim the ball like stated above. not using the clutch will hurt the syncos.

If you flick it into neutral, and match the revs before selecting the next gear it shouldn't damage the synchro's too much. Good way to teach yourself to match the revs.

Quoting jepherz:
Shim the pivot ball?

Gotta get it down here so I can do that.Shep says if you use a new piviot ball and fork then I shouldn't have to shim it.I always rev match.
