N/T Cams

Has anyone used the N/T cams before. They seem to be bit more aggressive than the stock turbo cams. Look good for my DD. I have the engine out and will be pulling the cams to do new lifters so I thought if they might be a bit better I would throw them in. I have a set sitting here.

In general NT cams have traits that are not boost friendly ( higher overlap, shorter duration ). High lift is not as important with FI.
Hit Google for way more info, not necessary to search specific to the 4G63.

A local guy ran 11.8 @ 118 with NT cams and a normal 16g with a basic setup. What does that mean? Not sure but obviously they aren't that bad.

Over lap on DOHC cars can be adjusted with the cam gears. If the lift and duration are more, I don't see what it will hurt but I don't know if its worth the hassle.

Sorry, shoulda clarified most of my research was going NA to FI.
The "bad" part is mostly emission related. Overlap helps create a scavenging effect in the cylinder to draw a bit more fresh air charge into the engine ( exhaust gases exiting "pulls" the incoming air in ). Downside is raw/unburnt fuel going straight thru the exhaust and into the cat ( can roach a CC when the fuel ingnites inside ). Race or no-cat vehicles don't need to worry as much, I don't know the emission laws in the OP's state or area but he did mention it was the DD. Like John mentioned adjustable cam gears can help with this.
Other items like lift, duration, lobe centerline all have their pros/cons ( powerband, torque, high RPM, etc ). I do not know the 4G63 NA cam specs so again just general theory is all I'm bringing to the thread.

if you decide to try it try some 94 galant gs cams if i remember correclty they are 260 something duration with a tab bit more lift
