Washer Reservoir relocation?

Has anyone relocated their washer reservoir? I plan on trying to utilize my stock 1g can and filter along with an ETS intake. I anticipate the washer reservoir being a problem.

Has anyone moved it?

Thanks

Once I remove the ABS I'm going to find a bigger bottle that will bolt into the wheel well and only the neck will be visible.

I used a stock 1G bottle. Mounted in the pass side wheel well. The factory neck sticks up through a hole already there behind the headlight. Extend the hose and wires, done. And looks factory.

I was going to try and get my hands on one of the RHD ones as seen in this photo, and mount it where the resistor pack sits, but i wound up making the stock bottle/location work for my setup. I may end up putting something in the ABS spot, now that mine's open.

Thanks for the pics everyone. Is there any way to relocate the stocker and still have it look half way decent?

Edit: Just realized that is the stocker...lol.

You could extend the wiring and the washer hose to the trunk and put it back there....

I'd use a couple one way valves to keep the fluid in the line so it wouldn't take a minute to start spraying.

What about somewhere in the engine bay...like maybe where people are putting their 1g bottles?

The advantage of the 1g bottle is that it has a long neck to allow the bulk of the tank to get mounted out of sight. Since our reservoir doesn't have the neck you can't mount it low and out of the way. The only real other place would be near the P/S tank and abs, but then you would have to delete the P/S for room. You could go to where the stock battery sits, but your intake may suffer.

I've not tried this, but 1999 3000GT tanks are hidden in the front grill area near the hood latch. If they fit in a Galant, it would be a nice place to hid one. The 91-98 is similar to the 1G TEL with the long neck.

There is a pull and save near by that should have a few of these laying around. If anyone wants one let me know. Im sure it will be cheap. Shipping will about 20 bucks due to the size.

Are you going to relocate your brake booster and master cylinder to the passenger side so you have room for the JDM reservoir?

The 1G tank looks baller behind the headlight. I'm totally stealing that.

Yep this is what is happening to me now. I could drop it lower and jb weld it to the frame but can't imagine how I'd be able to get washer fluid in there. I think it would be annoying to use a long funnel to get washer fluid in there but I am leaning towards it. Hell, I have to use a funnel to get coolant into my Escort GT. I should already be used to it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Hopefully your not adding coolant as much as you would be washer fluid.

No, i would have taken the crap off the firewall on the passenger side and mounted it next to the wiper motor.

Thanks for the pics. I got a Blox filter for an EVO 8/9. While about 6 inches long it nests right against the washer reservoir so perfect.
