Hi All,

Has anybody successfully made a tool to adjust the pivot ball for the clutch fork so they can be screwed out and a washer installed while bolted onto the engine?

I think it is very doable...

Ill try and make one soon but was wondering if has already been done elsewhere.

I can see maybe adjusting the the adjusting the pivot ball, but not to sure on removing the pivot ball and re-installing it with or without a washer.

I don't know if I would feel comfortable with an open ended spacer/shim. Just for the simple fact that it's under a good amount of stress and could snap/bend off if it doesn't have 360' of support behind it. Really if everything is machined properly, clutch fork isn't bent and the pivot ball isn't worn down past usable spec. An adjustable pivot is not needed. This shimming is more of a bandaid fix and not a real solution. The proper way to fix this will have to be removing the trans.

I agree 100%. I have never had to shim a pivot ball. Like the extended slave rod, the shim is a bandaid for a worn component. And good luck getting that out and getting a shim in. I tried on the first clutch I ever did because I was uneducated and thought that was the fix. Turned out mine was just worn way past replacement. Pulling the trans is really the only way to do it.
