rack n pinion help

hi this is the adance auto R/P part # RP2188.

does our stock 4ws R/P have that extra threaded output?

please refer to picture attached.

top one is old one. front wheel drive
bottom is RP2188.

there is also a half inch difference in height where the steering column attaches to.

That's an EPS enabled rack for a 2wd.

The 4ws one looks like the top one but with some funky lines hanging off.

thank you.

so just beware that this could happen when ordering
from advance. it would have been the cheapest rack and pinion
if not for this blunder. (1991 galant vr4 # RP2188).

i ended up ordering 1991 eclipse 2.0L FWD part # RP2156

hopefully they dont bungle this up too.

I don't remember the details on part numbers and such. But I ordered my rack for a galant GSX. It had an extra part that just screwed something into it to block it off.
