hi,
i have read and researched most of the 4ws delete threads here.
most suggest to replace the whole rack or plug the high pressure line on the rack itself with AN fitting or oil pan bolts. it always makes me think that this was done or suggested because the HP lines on the rack is corroded or leaking.

my question is, if the high pressure lines coming off the rack are intact and i just want to plug them to eliminate 4ws, can i just plug the lines where it meets the high pressure flexible hose leading to the back?

has any one done this?

refer to the picture for clarification.

thanks in advance.

You can plug them there, but it's an inverted flare fitting, which may not be the easiest to find. Maybe you could cut the steel end off the hoses and weld it shut to plug it.

Or you can just remove the lines and the rack. Then build a block off plate for the rear diff hole. No chance of leaks and you save about 29lbs. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devil.gif

correct me if im wrong, but if you have no interest in 4WS at all, the easiest way would either be to loop the lines right at the power steering resivor, or to install a DSM resivor with only two outlets, as opposed to 4.
