GM MAF concern

Replaced the clutch kit on my 91 Galant VR4. At first start up it idled around 6-700 rpm. Prior to performing maintenance it idled more along the 12-1500 mark. My guess for that was the modifications to the turbo - a 16g and the addition of the GM MAF. Problem now is I can't keep it idling, just cuts right off. If anyone has similar components and has suffered the same circumstances I'd appreciate some tips. I reconnected vacuum lines via service manual and utilized the vfaq website before posting here. Thanks for your time.

^^^ sound advice.

Another possibility is the placement of the unit, they are very sensitive to eddies and other anomolies related to location and/or clocking relative to the airflow.

A picture would tell that tale.

Another possibility is that the hot wire has become contaminated. It doesn't take much to coat the sensing element.

Do you have a logger?

What's it telling the ecu?

There's a bunch of people here that run that set-up, and if you can give them solid data, they can help you troubleshoot your issue much more efficiently.

Thanks for responding. No, I don't have any fancy set up. I'm having to do things by the seat of the pants method. I got it going again but it will eventually cut out. I noticed a procedure for air flow adjustment in the throttle body and I'm also going to remove the intake, vacuum lines and such and make sure things are where they're supposed to be and nothings worn out. Could be that I don't have the maf sensor dials set accordingly. Thanks again.

I have corrected my issue. I followed the instructions for the BISS adjustment per the VFAQ site and reset the mode and corresponding dials for the maf translator. Perhaps others could follow my situation in hopes of correcting their misfortunes. Many thanks to GalantVR4.org and the folks at VFAQ for their time and effort it is much appreciated.
