They're worth what someone is willing to pay. That's just an asking price. They are rare since they only came on 1994 twin-cam cars.

Supposedly the type of sensor used in the black top is better than the type of sensor used in the previous generation sensors. I say supposedly because I don't know if anyone has independently confirmed their higher accuracy but the general assumptions is that Mitsubishi wouldn't have switched sensors had this not been the case.

Also, this sensor fixes a check engine light for misfire that gets thrown when you swap a 6-bolt motor into a 2g.
