Now how much of a pain in the ass is it to swap? I hope it's easy..Wipers don't come back if you going over 90 and its raining.

You might try disassembling and cleaning/relubricating all the joints of the linkage first. It could be the extra load of the airflow at those speeds is causing too much friction and binding.
