If it was another mitsubishi like Mike's Evo II it wouldn't be that bad, but a skoda.........really. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif

Since there is no Onelap car to sponsor anymore, perhaps we should sponsor the Bonneville GVR-4. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/idea.gif

The Skoda is pretty much badass. And they certainly came prepared. Our talon that runs in the same class as the galant and skoda had a lot of issues. Maybe another event this year he can nail it down with the new power.

I love this skoda though. Great car, great guys.

Fixed! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Just add some racing stripes on the VR4 and I think it can take the title back /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

well IIRC, they are dropping in a taller 5th gear and shooting to improve their 216mph. I also read an article once that at speeds that high, those fancy aeromotions wings do wonders. I wonder how the yellow g ride would fare with these two mods /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

No worries, mates. That article says they beat out the previous record, held by a Mitsubishi Gallant. We're good!

And, having spent a weekend at El Mirage with the Smith Auto/Raver team, I'm sure they were the first to congratulate the Skoda folks.

Ron, Troy, Vernon - the whole team - the very definition of sportsmanship, imo.

They are good dudes. But, we did not see them all week. They bought a pre-entry, but appear to not have made the event. Very competitive class now. Quite a few cars show up each event for it. No more messing around, have to be serious and have it together now to bump the record for both the F and G classes. And if they go Altered, that means they can do streamlining. To me it is still the same as the drivetrain and engine layout woul dnot have changed.
