I am trying to visual feel of what size/offset rim in 16”and 17” fits nice on the VR4
I need proof so post pics taken at this angle and give the specs on the rim and tire (17x7.5 with 45mm offset and 225/45/17 tire)
Need to know how much the tire sticks out of the fender.
Now before you say anything PLEASE backup what you are saying with PICS like theses.

^16x7 35 offset 205/55/16 tire

^^17x6.5 43 offset 225/45/17 tire

And waaaaaay back with:

16x8 + 38 with 225s
1/4 in rear spacer

Same with the Volks now as far as size and offset go. I like 8 in wide with +38.

There alt 157's 17 x 7.5 but I'm not sure of the offset I got them from a friend that needed money fast and we pulled them from his Honda accord.

I can tell you that a 16x8 with 38 mm offset and 245 tires will fit inside the fender lips. No pics though sorry.

The fronts stick out a little but the rears are perfectly matched to the quarter panel.
Using front adjustable camber plates will fix the problem on the fronts or running +40mm offset on the fronts is another option. The wheels I'm using has a big lip so it gives the car a wider look. I'm thinking about lowering the rears a little to even it out.

Ooops. Fixed. I just wanted to add that they fit and don't rub on anything. The rear comes really close to the trailing arm but it doesn't hit. When I put a set on my cousin's 1G AWD DSM the wheel weights on the inner lip lightly scraped against the trailing arm so we removed them.

Subscribing, been thinking about the same thing.
On another note, it seems like the offset F-R is different?!? The rears appear to be narrower than the front in two separate cases above.

That's the car/control arms themselves actually - the front hubs on the stock car are spaced slightly wider than the rears. Supposed to improve the cornering ability.

Not at all, it tucks 100% under the fenders. It even tucked before I added camber to the front, now it REALLY sits under the fender, it's in at least 1/2" I'd guess. If you want another pic I can try to get one for you tomorrow evening.

Sorry it took so long but here's a few pics:

They aren't exactly top notch pics but they give you an idea of how the tires tuck. IIRC, Evo8 wheels are 35mm offset so if you've seen a GVR4 with them on it you can just picture it with the wheel moved in 10mm (about 3/8"). Keep in mind that I have 2.5* of camber in the front and 1.5* in the rear and that tucks it too.

This LINK says they are 50mm offset but it looks like your fronts are out pretty far. Yours should be 5mm more tucked than mine are. FWIW, most wheels have the offset marked on them somewhere. My TL ones say 45mm on them on the back of one of the spokes. Do you have some kind of spacer on the fronts?
