Long Version:
I figured I would make this post instead of continuing my "Newbie" introduction thread. Here
I picked up #90/2000 knowing that it had a salvage title at some point in it's life. The car was registered and driven by several owners before I picked the car up. After taking the car to my friends house to begin the teardown, he noticed that the frame rails were bent, so I had some reservations about even building the car. Ed (throughfaith323) happens to be a friend of my friend who’s helping me with the whole build. Ed recently picked up #1759 in order to part it out and sell most of the aftermarket parts. Considering #1759 was a clean shell and my shell was not worth salvaging, Ed and I worked a deal to swap shells. Ed didn’t want to part out a perfectly good shell, so the trade worked out for the both of us.
Short Version:
I bought #90 with hopes of beginning a VR4 build
Throughfaith323 bought #1759 to part out
My car had bent frame and throughfaith323 and I worked a deal for #1759
Adrian (illeffectVR4) the previous owner of #1759 had a clean and tastefully modded car in my opinion. It’s a good example of what I’d like the car to be when I’m finished with it. Hopefully I can bring it back to its former condition.
So far, the only thing accomplished is that we primed and painted the engine bay, while I finish getting a bunch of parts back from being powdercoated/ceramic coated. Engine bay was done in a fresh coat of white, so I figured I would be conservative and go with a basic powdercoat color. All the miscellaneous items in the engine bay will be gloss black and (either Chrome Smoke or Black Chrome, can’t decide). I have batch one done, but have another round I’m waiting to send. Some items include:
Wiper Arms
Windshield Cowl
Scatter shield
Crossmembers
Motor mounts
Valve Cover
Scatter Shield
Misc. Brackets
Heres a link to my photobucket account containing some of the pictures (don’t mind the fingerprints). Here
The next round going will consist of the following parts once I decide on a color:
Tial BOV
Tial Wastegate
Plug wire plate
Intake Manifold
Intake Pipe
I have a built engine ready to be transplanted into this beauty. Details are below:
Engine:
Fully built 2.0 Engine
Manley I beam Tough Rods
Manley Pistons (CR 8.5:1)
Manley 1mm over Valves
Manley Retainers & Springs
Bronze Valve Guides
ARP hardware throughout
3G lifters
BC 280 cams
OBX Adjustable Cam Gears
I’m going to be ruinning an FP3065 Turbo and FP Manifold. Hopefully it will be running with DSMLINK V3 once I get the upgrade from V2.5. I have a ton of other mods, but I’ll just leave everything for the member showcase thread, unless you want me to do a rundown here. I figure it’s more fun when you have something to look forward to. It’s basically going to be a fresh build of #1759 using a new setup that has some parts from #90’s setup.
I’m working on building a “Member Showcase†thread, but I want the car to be in a road worthy condition before I post there. For the time being, I’ll join the JSB Crew for the next few weeks while we get the car pieced together.
The link below has a few pictures to keep the thread interesting until we make some more progress:

I’ll keep updating/bumping this thread as I make progress for those of you interested.
